Book a Pro-Test Speaker
Pro-Test are no longer able to provide speakers for school talks, however Understanding Animal Research, a non-profit organisation who deal in advocacy and outreach, are willing to do in-school talks.
Pro-test have sent speakers to debate at a number of universities including UCL, LSE, Aberdeen and Sheffield University. We have also spoken at a number of schools round the country including The Perse School (Cambridge), Radley Sixth Form College (Oxford), Brentwood School (Essex)and Winstanley School (Wigan). Here are some the comments we received:
Radley College had this to say:
"Later speakers included ... Tom Holder, press officer for Pro-Test, the Oxford based group, standing up against animal rights activists. This last speaker really gripped the students' imaginations with his firsthand stories of the dangers faced personally by himself and Laurie Pycroft, the sixteen year old founder of the group."
Winstanley School reported:
"We were glad Laurie came to address us as it helped to counter the arguments which are perhaps too readily accepted by many students today. We had a large turnout and the arguments for experimentation were effectively and forcefully put, so that students were able to become more fully informed on this vital topic."
Brentwood School remarked
"Tom Holder from Pro-Test spoke forcefully about the need to use animals in medical tests against the speaker from Europeans for Medical Progress who argued the case for reviewing animal testing. Both speakers made impressive use of statistics, and the student audience both enjoyed the occasion and learnt a great deal."
